Renewable Thiol–yne “Click” Networks Based on Propargylated Lignin for Adhesive Resin Applications

چکیده
In this study, the development of lignin-based resins for wood adhesion applications was demonstrated. We investigated two lignin fractions: commercial Protobind 1000 and methanol-soluble fraction after mild solvolysis. Although has previously been incorporated into various cross-linked systems, is first report on thermosets obtained via thiol–yne “click” chemistry. approach, functionalized with terminal alkyne groups followed by cross-linking a multifunctional thiol, resulting in polymeric network formation. The influence curing conditions resin characteristics performance studied, varying amount reactive monomeric diluents. Additionally, post-curing strategy utilizing Claisen rearrangement investigated. These were tested as adhesive proven to possess desirable performance, comparable state-of-art phenol-formaldehyde resins. Lignin-based turn out be an alternative resins, currently used adhesives coatings. it possible use addition compromising resin’s performance. main benefits over approach are that higher loadings achieve, no volatiles emitted during processing use.
